If You are Tired of Feeling Stressed Out and Fatigued
and You Want to Feel in Control Again!
(...And as Joyful as the Days of Your Carefree Years)
Anna Barbosa, MA, CH
Let's face it, in these difficult times of economic uncertainty you could be dealing with more stressors in your life than every before. While some situations are out of your control, the one thing you can control is your reaction to these situations.
Stress Can Make You Sick
Stress is the invisible enemy of your well being. Do you ever find yourself snapping at someone you love for no apparent reason and then feel guilty later? Or maybe a co-worker tells you that you look tired and you think you've had a good night's sleep. Or maybe you can't sleep because of the nagging worry about how you've going to pay bills this month. Family problems, financial problems, medical problems, and the economy all play a part in chipping away at your sense of well being.
...we all know by now that chronic stress has damaging consequences for the body. If you're stressed out your blood pressure and cholesterol can shoot through the roof! Stress can damage blood vessels, and weaken your immune system. Think about it, have you ever gotten sick after an especially stressful event?
When you're stressed, your energy is zapped and you probably don't have any desire to exercise or do much of anything else.
Stress drains the joy out of living; and the couch seems more inviting that the casual dinner party of your close friend. The things you once were passionate about hold no interest for you.
....and do I even have to mention how stress causes weight gain?
Why I Had To Learn How To Overcome Stress
A few years ago I lived in a beautiful condo in downtown Seattle. I'm a native of Houston and a world traveler but this was my first time living outside of Texas. Being newly married, my husband had just been accepted to a medical fellowship at the University of Washington. I loved exploring my new surroundings. I recall one morning looking out my huge bay window, taking in the magnificent view of Puget Sound and the majestic Mount Rainier. I felt very blessed and said to myself, "Everything is right in my world. Mom and dad and the whole family are alive and well. I've been given so many opportunities, I am really fortunate." And then for some silly reason I said, "No one should have so much."
A few months later I was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer. I moved back to Houston to undergo a very rigorous course of chemotherapy and to be near my family. While dealing with the horrible and debilitating side effects of the chemotherapy we found out that the insurance company denied my claims and my husband had to take a job in New Jersey to pay for the medical bills. Six months later my dad was diagnosed with lung cancer. As I fought the cancer and the insurance company and worried about my dad, I had to find a way to overcome the stress that was making me sicker. I could not let the stress impact my ability to heal. For me, this was life or death.
Finally, the Silver Lining
Throughout this long and dark journey of illness and financial difficulty, I immersed myself in learning about the mind and body connection. I had so many toxic chemicals in my body that I didn't want to take anything more for the stress and anxiety that I was faced with. I refused to ingest more pills and chemicals so I chose to find alternative ways to help myself. Hypnosis, massage, journaling and many other tools became essential to my sense of well being and my attitude.
I became a true believer in the healing qualities of these modalities and became a certified hypnotherapist to help others deal with the stress in their lives.
If you are like me and many of my clients, you know that you have the innate abilites to naturally relieve stress and you don't want to depend on pills for your well being.
But what you may not know is how many different ways there are to help!
Listen To This Series And Find What Works Best For You!"
I've done the homework for you and asked some of the most respected and skilled holistic practitioners in Houston to "spill the beans" on their most effective and powerful tools to help you combat the stress in your life.
They too see more and more clients who are burdened by the stress that strips away the energy and joy from their lives.
Because everyone is different and what works for one person may not work for another, the therapists I invited come from different schools of thought and modalities.
This will be an event that has never been experience before in Houston! You are sure to find the new technique or skill that speaks directly to you.
You'll get incredible information from these extraordinary guests:
